Animated Codes Made Easy
FAQ
WHAT IS A QR CODE ?
A QR code (quick response code) is similar to a bar code with squares that can be scanned on any cell phone, making information easily accessible.
WHY ANIMATE QR CODES ?
Want to double your leads? Our animations attract the eye creating a 'call to action'. While standard QR codes all look the same, we make ours humanly recognizable, offering a layer of trust, while giving the opportunity to showcase your brand. Why not Animate? - They are so easy to make with our QR Code Designer.
I'M STILL A BIT CONFUSED, WHAT DOES ACME PROVIDE EXACTLY ?
We give you an animation of your QR code; essentially a custom short movie (.mp4/.gif) that is visually much nicer than the standard still image (.png) QR Codes.
OK, WHAT DO I DO WITH THE ANIMATION ONCE I HAVE IT ?
There are many ways to be productive with an animated QR code, here are just a few:
-
Put your animated QR code on any electronic display in your retail area or store window and watch the high quality animation catch everyone's attention to your logo (or promotion), scan it, and walk in and buy because of the promotion you put in the message of the code.
-
Put in your facebook/instagram/wechat/(any social) page in the code, and when you want to share your page with someone quickly, watch them be delighted at your animated QR code when you present it. Your code will clearly be the best they've seen, and with your image or business logo on it they'll know where it goes.
-
Having problems with people not being able to tell which of their QR codes is the ticket to which event? Not a problem with our animated QR Codes; the codes quickly identify themselves every few seconds to both a computer or a person in a continuous loop. Within the short time it takes for someone to take their phone out of their pocket, they are always computer-scannable and identifiable by a person wondering what that code is for.
-
Want to share some high value information efficiently? Want to assure your viewers the code is what they think it is before they scan it? Nothing increases the value of a QR code than a quality integrated animation which clearly describes itself to any viewer, and which any viewer can easily evaluate the quality of the animation.

DO I NEED TO DOWNLOAD AN APP ?
There's no need to download any app, either to make the code or to scan it. These days everyone's camera app on their phones can scan a QR code. You can create animated QR Codes interactively using our retail QR Code Designer web page, or, for software developers, our API (application programming interface) is available for private and Enterprise business use. Prefer a human touch? Just contact us and we will make one for you. Once you have your animated QR code from us, anyone can scan it by whatever means is easiest for them.
I'VE HEARD STORIES OF SOME QR CODES NO LONGER WORKING IF RECURRING PAYMENTS WEREN'T MADE OR THE COMPANY THAT MADE THEM, OR THAT COMPANY WENT OUT OF BUSINESS. DO I NEED TO KEEP PAYING ACME FOR MY QR CODES TO WORK?
Absolutely not. Our QR codes are not "re-directed". We put your un-altered message or data directly into the code. QR codes made by ACME are un restrained and will work forever. That said, some subscribing customers want re-direction for code simplicity and/or use tracking purposes. ACME only redirects embedded messages when asked to do so by our clients, or in our free demonstration animations.
HOW DOES ACME DO IT ?
Highly experienced animators work and liaise with equally skilled software engineers. With decades of experience in the visual effects industry, unique knowledge of automating 3d software, and a true passion for animation, our team makes it very easy for you to create your own animated QR code.
WHAT FRAME RATES CAN I GET?
The default frame rate is 30 frames per second (fps), including from our interactive Coderunner. We define all of our animations based on time, not frames, so all animations can be created at any arbitrary fps, including the industry standards of 15, 24, 25, 30, 48, 50, & 60 fps.
WILL ACME POST MORE ANIMATIONS ?
Yes, we are adding to our animation library constantly, and for the foreseeable future. We have published only a portion of our complete animation library. Sometimes we add new animations as we are inspired to, sometimes we prioritize animations requested by customers. We are fully committed to growing the published animation library over time.
CAN I GET AN ANIMATION THAT'S NOT IN YOUR ANIMATION LIBRARY?
Sure. Just contact us and let us know what animation you're after.
CAN I BECOME AN ACME DISTRIBUTOR ?
Send an email to sales@acme.codes and we will get back to you.
CAN I SIGN UP FOR PRE-RELEASES ?
You can sign up to be on our mailing list or for access to early releases when available, by sending an email request to us: will@acme.codes
WHAT SIZE IMAGES SHOULD I USE ?
There's no right or wrong size. Just don't submit a HUGE image if you expect it to be made quickly. 600 pixels width size is enough to generate a code 300 pixels size. Doubling your image input size is another good guide, for example, 800 for 400 code.
